Nordic photography schools features four of the most distinguished photography institutions from Denmark and Norway this year. Highlighting the rich diversity and creative ability of Nordic photo schools, Copenhagen Photo Festival offers a glimpse into the unique perspectives and innovative approaches that the students bring to display, contributing to the constantly evolving world of visual storytelling in Scandinavia. Copenhagen Photo Festival aims to shed light on emerging lens-based artists and photographers from the Nordics. Each year we appoint talents who represent the scope of current young fine art and documentary photography within the Nordic region for the FUTURES Photography platform, a European initiative dedicated to emerging photographic talent. In 2026 you can experience the FUTURES talent exhibitions at VÆKST by Liv Latricia habel (DK), Loulou Buxbom (DK), Mari Mäntynen (FI) and María Kristín Antonsdóttir (ISL).

VÆKST Creatives is Copenhagen Photo Festival’s new programme for emerging talents working at the intersection of artistic experimentation and dialogue-based transdisciplinary practices in the context of the photography scene. A key objective of VÆKST Creatives is to provide a space for emerging artists to actively shape new narratives, challenge the scope of photography and art and engaging the public in new and surprising ways. The VÆKST Creatives program presents six very different projects selected from an open call that will engage the public through music, performance and installations.
