Vi nærmer os sommersolhverv, og kunstnerne Thomas Seest og Tora Balslev inviterer dig med i en hyldest til fotosyntesen på den sidste åbningsdag for VÆKST. En workshop/performance som består af sanselige og videnskabelige møder med de fotosyntetiske væsner – en undersøgelse af planternes stædige væren på et sted så fremmed og naturstridigt som den industrielle havn på Refshaleøen.
Hvordan er det lykkedes planterne at bryde gennem asfalt og beton? Hvordan er de forbundet til fotografiet, til lyset, til jorden og til os som mennesker? Sammen skal vi møde planterne på nye måder – forstå deres liv og vores liv forbundethed.
We are approaching the summer solstice, and artists Thomas Seest and Tora Balslev invite you to join us in a tribute to photosynthesis on the last opening day of VÆKST. A workshop/performance that consists of sensory and scientific encounters with the photosynthetic creatures – an investigation of the stubborn existence of plants in a place as alien and unnatural as the industrial harbor on Refshaleøen.
How have plants managed to break through asphalt and concrete? How are they connected to photography, to light, to the earth and to us as humans?
Together we will meet plants in new ways – understand their lives and the interconnectedness of our lives.

Thomas Seest (ReGeneration) er billedkunstner og udforsker særligt økologi og regenerative idéer. Han har været involveret i adskillige landskabs- og rewilding-projekter. Aktuelt er Thomas engageret i kunst- og landskabsprojekterne; Køge Nord Madskov og Sorgrummet Orevej 86.
Tora Balslev (Daily Fiction / RÆVSHALE) er danser og performancekunstner. Hun udforsker relationer mellem menneskelige og andet-end-menneskelige kroppe i et bevægelsesbaseret arbejde relateret til eksistens og perspektiv. RÆVSHALE er Tora Balslevs treårige fletværk på Refshaleøen
ABOUT
Thomas Seest (ReGeneration) is a visual artist and explores ecology and regenerative ideas in particular. He has been involved in several landscape and rewilding projects. Currently, Thomas is involved in the art and landscape projects; Køge Nord Madskov and Sorgrummet Orevej 86.
Tora Balslev (Daily Fiction / RÆVSHALE) is a dancer and performance artist. She explores relationships between human and non-human bodies in a movement-based work related to existence and perspective. RÆVSHALE is Tora Balslev’s three-year braided work on Refshaleøen
