Oslo Fotokunstskole presenterer et utvalg arbeider av studenter fra skolens utdanning i fotografi og visuell kunst. Utstillingen viser hvordan en ny generasjon fotografer bruker fotografiet til å utforske mulige scenarier – personlige, sosiale og visuelle.
Gjennom ulike fotografiske strategier undersøker studentene hvordan bilder både kan dokumentere virkeligheten og samtidig skape nye forestillinger om den. Arbeidene beveger seg mellom dokumentariske observasjoner, personlige narrativer og mer konseptuelle tilnærminger, og reflekterer hvordan fotografi i dag brukes til å stille spørsmål ved identitet, tilhørighet, landskap, kropp og samfunn.
I tråd med festivalens tema Scenarios viser utstillingen hvordan fotografi kan fungere som et rom for spekulasjon, refleksjon og nye perspektiver. Bildene åpner for alternative måter å se og forstå verden på – fra intime historier til bredere samfunnsmessige refleksjoner.
For publikum gir utstillingen en mulighet til å møte nye kunstneriske stemmer tidlig i deres praksis, og oppleve hvordan unge fotografer arbeider med fotografiet som et levende og undersøkende medium i møte med vår tids visuelle kultur.
Oslo School of Photography presents a selection of works by students from the school’s photography and visual arts program. The exhibition shows how a new generation of photographers uses photography to explore possible scenarios—personal, social, and visual.
Through various photographic strategies, the students examine how images can both document reality and simultaneously create new conceptions of it. The works move between documentary observations, personal narratives, and more conceptual approaches, reflecting how photography today is used to question identity, belonging, landscape, the body, and society.
In line with the festival’s theme, Scenarios, the exhibition demonstrates how photography can function as a space for speculation, reflection, and new perspectives. The images open up alternative ways of seeing and understanding the world—from intimate stories to broader societal reflections.
For the public, the exhibition offers an opportunity to encounter new artistic voices early in their careers and to experience how young photographers work with photography as a living and exploratory medium in engagement with the visual culture of our time.

Oslo Fotokunstskole er en uavhengig kunstskole i Oslo dedikert til fotografi, visuell kunst og film. Gjennom ett- og toårige utdanninger, kurs og faglige arrangementer arbeider studentene både praktisk og konseptuelt med fotografi som kunstnerisk uttrykk.
Skolen legger vekt på kunstnerisk utvikling, kritisk refleksjon og utforskning av fotografiets rolle i samtiden. Oslo Fotokunstskole fungerer også som en møteplass for kunstfeltet gjennom utstillinger, foredrag og samarbeid med kunstnere og institusjoner i Norge og internasjonalt.

Oslo School of Photographic Arts is an independent art school in Oslo dedicated to photography, visual arts, and film. The school serves as a vital platform for fostering new voices in contemporary photography and visual storytelling. Through one- and two-year programs, courses, and professional events, students engage with photography as an artistic medium both practically and conceptually.
The school emphasizes artistic development, critical reflection, and exploration of photography’s role in the contemporary world. Oslo School of Photographic Arts also serves as a meeting place for the art community through exhibitions, lectures, and collaborations with artists and institutions in Norway and internationally.

Christine Bechameil præsenterer en serie analoge fotografier og video, der udforsker hjemmet som både et velkendt rum og et rum i forandring. Gennem miniature-scenografier, projektioner og refleksioner skaber installationen et sanseligt miljø i bevægelse, hvor grænsen mellem inde og ude opløses. I videoen 16 Million Minutes inviterer gentagelser og subtile ændringer i lys og lyd publikum til at reflektere over tid, perception og hverdagens oversete detaljer.
Christianshavns Beboerhus
Denne deltagerbaserede udstilling af Hannah Miller, Lasse Møller Jensen, Rita Blue Biza, Sofie Lund og Sofie Gyrd-Hansen bruger et overdådigt kagebord, inspireret af Wayne Thiebaud, som udgangspunkt for at reflektere over global ulighed og vores forhold til fjerne kriser. Efterhånden som kagerne deles og spises, bliver de dokumenteret og omdannet til fotografiske værker, der gradvist fylder rummet. Det, der begynder som en fælles oplevelse, udvikler sig til en nutidig vanitas om overflod, ansvar og billedskabelse.

Copenhagen Photo Festivals knudepunkt for nye kunstnere og fotografer, VÆKST, præsenterer et væld af talenter på Refshaleøen i år – fra de fire udvalgte FUTURES Nordic Talents til studerende fra fire skandinaviske fotoskoler og ikke mindst værker af vores seks udvalgte VÆKST Creatives, der interagerer med fotografi fra et tværfagligt perspektiv.

ABOUT THE EXHIBITIONS
Strandgade 6
Christine Bechameil presents a series of analogue photographs and video exploring the home as both a familiar space and one in transformation. Through miniature scenographies, projections, and reflections, the installation creates a shifting, sensory environment where boundaries between inside and outside dissolve. In the video 16 Million Minutes, repetition and subtle changes in light and sound invite viewers to reflect on time, perception, and the unnoticed details of everyday life.
Christianshavns Beboerhus
This participatory exhibition by Hannah Miller, Lasse Møller Jensen, Rita Blue Biza, Sofie Lund and Sofie Gyrd-Hansen uses an abundant cake table, inspired by Wayne Thiebaud, as a starting point to reflect on global inequality and our relationship to distant crises. As the cakes are shared and consumed, they are documented and transformed into photographic works, gradually filling the space. What begins as a collective experience evolves into a contemporary vanitas on excess, responsibility, and image-making.

Copenhagen Photo Festival’s hub for emerging artists and photographers VÆKST presents and abundance of talent at Refshaleøen this year – from the four selected FUTURES Nordic Talents to the graduating students from four Scandinavian photo schools and not least the work by our six selected VÆKST Creatives that interact with photography from a interdisicplinary perspective.

This event provides the opportunity to directly connect with this years exhibiting students of OSLO Fotokunstskole and hear about their projects firsthand. This guided tour will offer a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions relating to the themes of their work. Participants will gain insight from the artists about their projects and creative processes, and connect with the next generation of Nordic photographers.

The images that Oslo Fotokunstskole present at the Copenhagen Photofestival this year represent a broad selection of different approaches to photography in themes and methods although most of them are based on analogue camera processes. At Oslo Fotokunstskole every student starts their photographic education by exploring analogue cameras and spending hours in the darkroom, learning to master the analogue techniques as well as to experiment with them. The slowness of the analogue photography encourages students to mature their gaze and look thoroughly on their images before they end up on a wall or in a book.
The exhibition showcases work that seemingly transforms what is everyday, near and familiar into something unfamiliar, which adds a new layer to the understanding of our surroundings. An odd and tight cropping, grainy surface or almost abstracted image give our gaze resistance and make us linger a little longer in the images presented.
Oslo Fotokunstskole is a school of art in Oslo that focus on photography and film, providing students with a platform for higher art education. The school has around hundred students, with teachers working as professional artists in photography and film.
