This year, Copenhagen Photo Festival proudly introduces VÆKST, a new hub within the festival dedicated to nurturing young talent and fostering interdisciplinary exchange. With a focus on emerging Nordic photographers, performers, and sound artists, VÆKST celebrates bold, new voices and offers a space for artistic growth and dialogue.
The program features a dynamic range of exhibitions, performances, and installations by VÆKST Creatives, 2025 Nordic FUTURES Talents, Nordic photography schools and FOTOGRAFI Magazine portfolio award winner.
The evening kicks off with an opening talk and is followed by guided tours through the installations by Nordic Photography Schools.
As the night unfolds, we’ll be bringing the energy with live performances, immersive installations of the VÆKST creatives, and an electric DJ set by DJ Popup to keep the vibes flowing as we close out the celebration with a dance party you won’t want to miss.
Located on Refshaleøen, on the historic site of a former shipyard, VÆKST invites you to step into a creative landscape—where history meets new, emerging photography and art forms in a site full of material traces from its industrial past.

Visit our VÆKST exhibition park to experience the solo exhibitions of the 2025 FUTURES Nordic Talents, including Andreas Hopfgarten, Frida Jersø, Marcus Gustafsson, and Maria Høy Hansen.
Filling in the Gaps is a deeply personal project by Swedish photographer, Marcus Gustafsson, focused on familial history, memory, and human connection. The series brings together Gustafsson’s own photographs with archival photographs taken by members of his family, incorporating mixed-media manipulations, such as painting, drawing, and taping.
The project offers a visual dialogue that engages with themes of family, trauma, and reconciliation, encouraging the viewer to consider how we can use archival material to reconstruct memories and navigate the spaces between the remembered, imagined, and unknown. By weaving together the past and present, Filling in the Gaps reflects on the ways in which personal narratives are constructed, altered, and reinterpreted over time.
