This workshop is part of the networking program for exhibiting photo schools and emerging artists exhibiting at the festival and is only open for an invited audience.
This hands-on workshop by our Solo Artist Elizabeth Pedinotti Haynes—an American photographer—works on the topic of Memory-Wish-Incantation.
Participants will create a “Still life/Portrait Hybrid” that encapsulates a memory, a current state of being and a future possibility. They will choose a person with whom they have shared domestic spaces, meals, and life experience to depict through the use of printed photographs, food and food scraps, and other domestic items, in a still life photograph.
Requirement: The participants should bring photographs of and/or representing the subject they have chosen to explore that they don’t mind cutting up.

The digital exhibition of Copenhagen Photo Festival’s Selectees presents 6 contemporary photographic artists all engaging with the overarching theme ‘Fremkaldelser / Into the Light’. The artists presented have been selected from 919 applicants in this year’s open call.
“In our time, the complexity of everyday life can feel like a blow to the stomach. We are confronted daily with war, conflict and climate challenges. But the intricacies of this contemporary complexity call to be brought into the light. To be seen, scrutinized patiently, shown and told about.” – CPF theme 2025

Each artist enriches the theme of ‘Into The Light’ with their personal voice. They show us how memories and history are stored within the body, many in the context of a larger story that defies global borders.
The projects introduce us as viewers to unseen stories related to family, the ethics of intergenerational responsibilities, archives, and bring us into a new space of emotionally critical thinking, through their work. They also embrace the theme materially, from analog photographic methods to the more technological practices.

Hver kunstner betoner temaet 'Into The Light' med deres personlige stemme og introducerer os til usete historier relateret til familie, etik, generationsansvar, arkiver og bringer os ind i et nyt rum af følelsesmæssigt kritisk tænkning gennem deres arbejde. Copenhagen Photo Festival is excited to announce the selection of 10 contemporary photographic artists at its 2025 edition, all exploring the overarching theme Fremkaldelser / Into the Light. This year selectees were chosen out of 919 applications from 67 countries that responded to CPF’s open call.
The theme of 2025 'Fremkaldelser / Into the Light' speaks to the act of revealing – of bringing hidden truths, stories, and perspectives into view. Like the photographic process, it requires patience, intention, and a willingness to embrace both control and uncertainty. In a world overwhelmed by complexity, conflict, and fleeting attention, it urges us to slow down, to illuminate what is unseen, to sharpen our gaze and seek the light (click to read the full theme statement).
Step beyond the silence
Each of the 10 Copenhagen Photo Selectees of 2025 now announced for the festival selectee for 2025 enriches the theme with unique perspectives. Revealing how memories and history live within the body – echoes of larger stories that transcend borders. With deeply personal approaches, their works present resilience and hope, illuminating a world that can rise above indifference, trauma, and the shadows of extinction. They urge us to step beyond silence. To ask, to listen, to venture through the grey zones and white shadows, and ultimately, into the light.

Congratulations to the 10 selectees of 2025
Four of the selected artists will present a solo exhibition at our new festival center The Royal Danish Theatre. The remaining 6 will be presented in a digitalised group show. In the upcoming weeks, we will unfold each project in more detail.
