Press Accredition
Apply for press accreditation here
We welcome the press to visit our festival and look forward to collaborating. Our festival center is situated at The Royal Theater, a spectacular and historic venue in its own right. In addition the festival also exhibits and host exhibitions and activities by upcoming artists and photographers at VÆKST, at Refshaleøen.
To gain access to Copenhagen Photo Festival’s main venue and exhibitions at the Royal Danish Theatre as a journalist, photographer, influencer, etc. and secure access to the festival’s press tours and activities, you must be accredited in advance. Accreditation does not give access to ticketed events, talks and activities.
Accreditation is based on an application, and we recommend that you familiarize yourself with terms for accreditation before you and/or your media/employer apply (see terms below the form).
You can apply for press accreditation until 8 June via the form. We evaluate your application on an ongoing basis. If you have not heard from us with 5 work days, please reach out to us here.
If you are a freelancer, please note that it is the employer who is tasking you who must fill out the application form for you. We will review on an ongoing basis.
An accreditation fee for all opening days at the festival centre costs 150 DKK for all days and 75 DKK for one day (plus ticket supplier fee).
Copenhagen Photo Festival is a non-profit festival and payment of the accreditation fee contributes to Copenhagen Photo Festival’s expenses in connection with administration for accredited persons among other things.
The press can only access the festival area with an accreditation. Your press pass alone does not grant you access.
The press accreditation form is open from 1 March to 8 June 2026
Terms and conditions
When we review press accreditations we use these guidelines
- The media outlet must appear serious and professional.
- The application must outline concrete editorial goals, focus areas, and target audiences.
- The overall pool of accreditations must represent Copenhagen Photo Festival’s core themes, such as art, photography, art, community, volunteering, social sustainability, innovation, and more.
- If the applicant has been accredited in previous years, they must submit coverage from past editions to be considered in the application review process.
- The application must be submitted before the deadline (1 June 2025).
Before applying, please note the following:
- Not all applicants will be accredited. You increase your chances by addressing the above criteria in your application.
- Media accreditation is granted solely for editorial coverage. Without prior written agreement with Copenhagen Photo Festival, it is not permitted to use the festival’s name, trademarks, or symbols for marketing purposes. It is also not allowed to carry out marketing activities while at Copenhagen Photo Festival, including making audio or visual recordings for commercial purposes without the festival’s permission.
- With accreditation comes the responsibility to respect the festivalgoers attending the event. It is the media’s responsibility to respect them in any coverage. Approved accreditation also serves as an agreement to uphold this principle.
- If you wish to carry out larger productions (e.g., feature films or documentaries) at the festival center at the Royal Danish Theater, the VÆKST hub for emerging artists or at our networking and workshop space at Lille Mølle, we strongly encourage you to apply well in advance. These applications take longer to process, as such productions often require different and more complex levels of service, guidance, mobility, and access.
