Scandinavian School Exhibitions
Nordic Photography Schools have a special focus at this year’s Copenhagen Photo Festival. Five leading institutions from Denmark, Norway, and Sweden present a strong and diverse student showcase.
The student’s work reflects the creative range and innovative thinking that shape Nordic visual storytelling today. Students of the different schools will present group exhibitions and be a part of networking activities, including workshops and portfolio reviews with international professionals.
The four schools presented with exhibitions are Oslo Met, DMJX, Fatamorgana and Oslo Fotokunstskole.

The Photographic Department of the Danish School of Media and Journalism is located in Aarhus, Denmark. Initiated in 1992, the Danish BA program in photojournalism has a rich history, and since 2004, DMJX has been proud to host international classes every semester.
Annually, only 12 Danish photojournalists graduate, and their international programs admit 8-10 students each. Globally recognized, their photojournalism courses have produced numerous internationally award-winning photographers.
Underlining the principles of documentary photography, DMJX Photojournalism asserts that all stories presented are authentic representations. The depicted people and their stories are genuine, captured as experienced by the photographers.

Fatamorgana (DK)
Fatamorgana, Danmarks Fotografiske Billedkunstskole (Fata) is a practice-based art school in Copenhagen focused on photography and film as exploratory and personal media. Teaching revolves around experimentation, project work, and collective critique, where students develop their own visual language through assignments, dialogue, and continuous feedback. The school emphasizes artistic process, reflection, and personal growth rather than fixed curricula, and through guest teachers, exhibitions, and workshops, students engage in an active, discussion-driven creative environment.

Oslo Fotokunstskole (NO)
Oslo Fotokunstskole was originally founded in 1989 as Den Nye Malerskole, subsequently it transformed into a distinguished institution offering comprehensive education in Photographic Art, Film & Video Art with the photography department being established in 1994. Recognizing the importance of professional excellence, the school places a high value on its teachers and guest lecturers, ensuring they actively engage with their own art and remain attuned to the contemporary art scene.
Encouraging experimentation and free thinking, the curriculum combines traditional foundations with a focus on personal expression rooted in individual personalities and cultural backgrounds. The school fosters a transformative journey for students, guiding them from conceptualization to the completion of their artistic works, emphasising engagement with art, philosophy, societal debates, and self-reflection.
