Copenhagen Photo Festival has been invited as a partner for the 4th edition of the FUTURES, a platform co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union focusing on amplifying emerging talents in photography in Europe.

Since 2017, FUTURES has been offering a full programme to increase the capacity, mobility and visibility to various artists selected every year by leading art institutions across Europe. As a new FUTURES partner, Copenhagen Photo Festival has created its new programme FUTURES NORDIC TALENTS. The programme will start in January 2021, with a one-month open call for upcoming and recent graduates of art or documentary photography with Nordic residency.

In February 2021, we will select five artists, from 15 shortlisted, from the Nordic region (which includes Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, the Faroe Islands, Greenland, and Åland), to participate in a series of activities in the spring, including portfolio reviews and Master Classes, leading up to the Copenhagen Photo Festival (3rd-13th June, 2021).

As an integral part of our festival, the finalists will exhibit their works at our main exhibition park at Refshaleøen and present their works through artists’ talks and other activities. As part of the FUTURES programme in its final stage, the FUTURES NORDIC TALENTS finalists will also get to meet their emerging talents peers and photography experts from across Europe.

We are happy to announce that Nordic Culture Point is also generously supporting this programme.

More information about FUTURES NORDIC TALENTS, including how to apply, will be published on this website in the beginning of December. Application will be done digitally, and there will be a application fee of DKK 100/€ 13.5
