New Worlds Emerge - an exhibition about video games

verden over.

perspektiverer New Worlds Emerge nye former for innovation,
indlevelse og menneskelige relationer set gennem spillenes vidt
forskellige filtre.

English below

Medbring dine egne ting:

Cyanotype - Do you want to make beautiful analog photography technique?

See and experience the old analog photo technique, where the UV light is your partner and where you expose images in open-air utilizing sunlight, and then develop them with water. The possibilities for making the most beautiful cyanotypes are endless.
We make cyanotype photograms and contact copied photos
A photogram is a unique analog photographic process, being a form of photography that does not require a camera or an expensive darkroom. Cyanotype photograms are poetic blue silhouette images made of feathers, flowers, lace, paper clips and all sorts of other things.
A contact-copied photo is made with a large format negative, which is exposed directly in 1:1 without any magnification onto a piece of homemade cyanotype photogrqphy paper. For this process, you can print a negative photo on a transparency such as the kind used for overhead projectors and print it as a cyanotype contact print.
You try out these two techniques on the workshop. For both techniques, place leaves, paper clips, negatives, etc. directly on paper, which is coated with a light-sensitive cyanotype emulsion, and then let the sunlight expose the paper, so that a silhouette effect is created. Engineers used the process well into the 20th century as a simple and inexpensive process to produce copies of drawings, called "blueprints". Today, the technique is used primarily by artists.
In this 3 hour workshop, you will be introduced to all steps of the cyanotype technique and have the opportunity to try it out.
Bring the following materials with you to the workshop:
You are welcome to bring pressed flowers, negatives printed on transparencies, lace, etc. There is also a selection of several different materials available on the course day. Put on your practical clothes, as a large part of the workshop takes place outdoors, and bring drinks and a good mood.

Eye Eye Me – NFT Friday: Talk & Workshop

Join us at the Festival Center for eyeopening afternoon with a talk and workshop about art and NFTs. Get wiser on the NFT technology, its potentials, possibilities and the many new perspectives NFT's have in relation to art, archives and photography.

The Danish online gallery eyeeye.me based in Copenhagen opens this NFT Friday with a talk about their story and how art and technology can benefit from each other. EyeEye use the NFT-technology to turn old negatives from The Blosson Expedition, an Atlantic expedition, into digital art on the blockchain.

When the three-masted schooner Blossom traveled the Atlantic Ocean in the 1920s, exploring exotic locations in Africa and South America, its crew members could hardly have imagined that the photographic records of their expedition would become the focal point of an art project almost 100 years later.

Had anyone tried to explain to them what the project entailed, they would have dismissed it as pure science fiction. Indeed, the technological gap between the fragile, faded negatives that still exist as memories of ‘the Blossom Expedition’ and today’s digital space is almost unimaginable. Nevertheless, it has been bridged by three Danes who decided to join forces and introduce a way of making art that is quite unusual in Denmark.

The idea of making digital art out of the negatives was born. Marc Fluri, Sebastian Tiku Lybecker and the third project member, Jesper Munk, decided to conduct an experiment – they would transform some of the photographs from the expedition into NFTs, turning something that was never thought of as artistic into unique digital art objects.

After the talk, Eye Eye's own crypto currency expert, Jesper Munk, will give an introduction to how you can purchase NFT's yourself.

Program

16-17 Eye Eye talk.

The talk will be in Danish The talk will take place in the Festival Cinema at Frame and is open for all with a Festival Pass – you do not have to sign up.

17-17.45 Eye Eye workshop.

Group show: I mellem tiden

Dansk nedenfor

“I Mellem Tiden” (translation: In between Time)  highlights young photography and is a visual representation of how it can feel to be young and in between places - physically as metaphorically. Five young photographers each bring their own interpretation based on what it means to them in their lives.

The exhibition is an invitation to stop and reflect on how it feels to be young today, with everything it includes of insecurities from not following the common timeline, the euphoria of having found your calling, the doubt from your choices and so on. At the same time, it is also an insistence on giving more room for slowness and reflection in a time filled with high demands and expectations. Hopefully, it can evoke recognition, strengthen and inspire especially those who, like us, do not necessarily follow a completely stringy existence and may at times feel lonely as a result.

Alexandra Rose Howland: Leave and Let Us Go

Alexandra Rose Howland (1990, US/UK) has spent the last decade living in the Middle East and creating work that challenges traditional coverage of the region and its geopolitics. Her background as an abstract painter continues to impact her work, leading to a multidimensional practice using imagery, found objects, collage, sound, and video.

As a public, we are bombarded with outside perspectives that fuel a preconceived and often false narrative and understanding of who people are and what they experience. Through her work, Howland explores new ways of using imagery, occupying public spaces, and encouraging people to witness the diversity of humanity, regions, and events in a more inclusive way.

Howland immerses her audience within the work as an experience rather than making them passive observers. By creating an interactive dialogue, her work creates a more honest understanding of ‘the other’ while simultaneously battling the contemporary conundrum of image saturation.
