Portfolio reviews, art walks and much more
This year’s programme offers a number of events and workshops, and for many of them the tickets are already available! To secure yourself a seat at our portfolio reviews or for one of our art walks around Copenhagen, have a look at our programme category Events and workshops.
We have invited publishers, curators, gallerists and artists from all over the world to help you finish your projects. You get three individual consultations with three people of your choice. Portfolio reviews are for both students and professionals of fine art photography and documentary photography. Whether you need help publishing a photo book, tips for arranging an exhibition or would just like to talk about your project with experienced professionals, this is your opportunity.
This year’s reviewers are: Claire Gould, curator at HAM – Helsinki Art Museum, Kirstine Kern, artistic director at Fotografisk Center, Thomas Borberg, photo editor at Politiken, Helene Nyborg, artistic director at Nikolaj Kunsthal, Danish photographer Martin Thaulow, American photographer Andrea Bruce and Norwegian photographer Espen Rasmussen.
Join Copenhagen Photo Festival on a guided art walk, where we together visit the photo exhibitions to learn more about the thoughts behind the works, and to see what happens when fine art photography is placed in a vibrant district such as inner Nørrebro or a historial district such as Indre by.
The photo as a debater? All across Europe, right-wing movements and political parties are emerging as a response to the recent years’ arrival of refugees and migrants. As the political left simultaneously stand their ground, the different attitudes towards nations’ responsibilities in the so-called refugee crisis seem to collide more and more.
How do we ensure freedom of speech in a political climate increasingly characterized by disagreement? And what does the photograph add to the debate between the political oppositions, and all those who are somewhere in between?
Join the debate on the opening day of this year’s Copenhagen Photo Festival, where we discuss whether photography can reduce the gap in a parted Europe.
