Emerging talents from SCANDINAVIAN PHOTO SCHOOLS

In June 2023, we have invited Scandinavian schools and educations within the field of photography to exhibit in the festival center at Refshaleøen in Copenhagen – from fine art photography to photojournalism. The idea is to build bridges between the Scandinavian talents and strengthen the network and exchange between the schools and the photo scene.

Oslo Met

Human rights, climate change and politics. Three of many big themes today. Three interesting, current, and forward looking topics, which in their own way need attention, commitment and respect. Various stories that fall under these themes will be shown at Copenhagen Photo Festival 2023 by six photography students from Bangladesh, six photographers from Nepal and twelve students from Norway. Each photographer tells a visual story that is important, current, and engaging. Nepal is the main area of this project.
The students are: Aurora Ytreberg Meløe ∙ Aleksandra Hanna Pestka ∙ Ali Zare ∙ Beate Oma Dahle ∙ Guro Asdøl Midtmageli ∙ Isabel Svendsen Berge ∙ Joakim Pedersen ∙ Marie Grensbråten Lorvik ∙ Martin Solhaug Standal ∙ Sara Aarøen Lien ∙ Sindre Deschington ∙ Shad Madian

VERA skole for kunst & design

VERA Skole for Kunst og Design's exhibition at Copenhagen Photo Festival shows the work of 15 students from the spring course 2023. They present individual projects, which are the result of intensive research and work during the course. The students developed ideas and experimented with different photographic processes, both analog and digital, before defining their final works for this particular exhibition.
As the school focuses on photography as an art form, the exhibition shows a wide and open range of photographic expression, from experimental and conceptual projects to more classic photographic themes, making the exhibition a very interesting combination of techniques, styles and subjects. An inspiring window to a range of selected works by talented young photographers.

The participating students are: Andrea Ove Holm ∙ Astrid Hyldgaard ∙ Clara Frellesvig Boss ∙ Daniel Stoltze Norlander ∙ Emilie Andrea Stuer Hoppe ∙ Emilie Dyrberg ∙ Frida Lillevang ∙ Kristian Tuxen Ladegaard Berg ∙ Mathilde Colette Archer ∙ Rebecca Schiller ∙ Ronja Krogh Busch ∙ Sidse Holst Schytte ∙ Sophia Fernandez ∙ Thomas Samuel

Fotoskolen Fatamorgana Danmarks Fotografiske Billedkunstskole

Presenting a diverse display of photography, video, and installations, the latest exhibition at Kulturhuset Støberiet features the works of the spring semester 2023 at Fatamorgana The Danish School of Art Photography.
The exhibition consists of a selection of works curated by the students. The education at Fatamorgana is based on ‘assignments’ that the students have to ‘answer’. Only very few assignments will be reused from one year to the next. This gives the teachers the possibility to develop the assignments to challenge the students in the most meaningful way every time.
The works displayed highlight the various styles and perspectives that the students possess. They all have their own unique way of approaching their art.

The participating students are: Alba Amelie ∙ Arvid Hiller ∙ Asta Brunebjerg ∙ Caroline Guldager Gardendal ∙ Christine Louise ∙ Ejvind Spence ∙ Elias Herltoft ∙ Elsa Öhrn ∙ Emma Surya Petersen ∙ Filip Lange Smedegaard ∙ Freja Beha Erichsen ∙ Guld ∙ Ines Cvetkovski ∙ Kasper Teiner ∙ Laura Baarstrøm ∙ Linda Løhde ∙ Mikkel Warrer ∙ Mira Hansen ∙ Nils Mårtensson ∙ Ragnar Österlund ∙ Thalia Engblom ∙ Zakarias Wenzel.
