Artist talk // Banja Rathnov: Photography and France

5 June @ 16:00 - 18:00

Artist talk // 16:00 – 18:00

Talk by Gallery owner and art historian Banja Rathnov

Drawing on her passion for French humanist photography, which stems from Banja Rathnov’s 22 years in Paris, she will examine the classic black and white images that helped to restore man’s faith in mankind after the two world wars that destroyed so much. Surrealism, Dadaism, humanism and the human being at the centre. Well-known names like Kertesz, Brassai and Cartier-Bresson represents only a fraction of the artists from golden era in the long history of photography, and Banja will take introduce you to many other less known but equally important and fascinating artists. The talk is in Danish.
