The Nordic Regions Largest Photo Festival
Copenhagen Photo Festival. The largest Nordic festival of its kind returns on June 2-12 2022 with exhibitions spread from our Festival Center on Refshaleøen in Copenhagen to a host of galleries, museums and art institutions in the greater Copenhagen area and southern Sweden.
Festival Center: FRAME at Refshaleøen
At our Festival Center you can experience a host exhibitions, talks, events and social gatherings. The Festival Center is located in the midst of a 10,000 m2 urban wilderness at the artificial island Refshaleøen. The place was previously home to the Burmeister & Wain (B&W) shipyard.
During the 10 festival days the park and our venue FRAME is turned into an innovative exhibition park offering a 360 degree festival experience that will connect the best of photography and lens-based art with hang out spots, drinks, talks and events. The ambition is to explore new ways of exhibiting photography and to create a physical platform in Northern Europe for innovative photography – documentary as well as artistic.
The exhibition park and venue is placed in the sweet spot between Copenhagen Contemporary, Reffens Street Food, Lille Bakery, Øens Have, Restaurant Alchemist and many other innovative and creative neighbors residing in the post-industrial buildings on Refshaleøen.

At our CPF Partner venues across the greater Copenhagen area and Southern Sweeden you can experience a host of events, talks and exhibitions related to the lensebased art and documentary practises.
Galleries with both upcoming talents and established artists are represented at our CPF Partner Exhibitions. The program spans photographic institutions like Fotografisk Center to contemporary galleries like Martin Asbæk Gallery, Alice Folker Gallery and Format Gallery. But also artist driven exhibition spaces and atist’s studios open the doors to give you new photographic experiences.
