How to apply
Open Call for The Censored Exhibition is now closed.
The Censored Exhibition (Den Censurerede Udstilling) has existed since 2012 with the aim to present a contemporary selection of international fine art photography based on an open call. An international jury selects 50 works for The Censored Exhibition. In 2017 Copenhagen Photo Festival received a record number of applications from photographers all over the world.
As selected photographer for The Censored Exhibition your work will be exhibited at Copenhagen Photo Festival 2018 (7-17 June). The exhibition is located in Photo City – which is the festival’s main center that hosts ten international solo and group exhibitions in a unique former industrial area. Many of the photographers who have been selected previously are recognized today, and it is a great opportunity for being promoted to a broad, dedicated audience, critics and curators at the largest photo festival in Scandinavia.
The selected photographers also get the chance to get their work sold at a special auction event. Copenhagen Photo Festival collaborates with the recognized Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers about an auction event in The Censored Exhibition on the last day of the festival period. The auction is open online at bruun-rasmussen.dk throughout the festival period (7-17 June). The online bids will then be transferred from the homepage to the live auction at the exhibition, where Bruun Rasmussen will auction off the selected works. The idea with the event is to focus on the many qualities of photographic art, give old and new art collectors the opportunity to acquire new handpicked photographic art and not least shed light on new emerging art photography.
